ROTARY CLUB OF METRO SFDM

VISION

A group of professionals and  businessmen bonded together by family, friendship and cooperation inspired by the Rotary Ideals committed to touch people’s life by community service, inspiring the less privileged to improve their life and be part of a peaceful, loving and God fearing community

MISSION

To effectively  achieve the vision, RC Metro SFDM shall comply with the thrust and plans of action set as a guiding principle by Rotary International through District 3780 by way of the following in the conduct of its business and rendering community services consistent with the  promotions of  the Ideals of Rotary as follows to wit:

  1. Strengthening the membership base
  2. Development of the members to become  effective leaders through training and continuing education
  3. Supporting the cause & priority programs of The Rotary Foundation
  4. Establishing an effective club to promote the programs of the R.I. and of the Club.
  5. Implement high impact programs/projects in the community based on their assessed needs.
  6. Promote the Ideals of Rotary through the Rotarian, the Club and its projects, and through tri-media exposure.

CLUB LEADERSHIP AND ADMINISTRATION

What is Club Administration :

Simply put, it is organizing people and resources to achieve common goals. And how do we plan to organize the people and the resources of this Club?

GOALS:

  1. To develop an effective and sustainable Club Administration
  2. To develop members for Club Leadership and beyond

STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION:

Programs:

  1. Establish a short, medium and long term focus of the Club and at least a 3-year succession plan for consistency & continuity;
  2. Comply with the Standards set by RI, in reporting, payments and subscriptions;
  3. Regularly review and update the Club Bylaws to make it responsive to the times;
  4. Allow members to participate and share their valuable inputs to the projects being planned or implemented;
  5. Encourage members to participate in leadership trainings & all or other seminars.

Attendance:

  1. Formulate informative, meaningful and exciting club meetings by having regular classification talks at least once a month so as to encourage and give every member an opportunity to talk in front of other Members and to advance his skills in public Speaking;
  2. Encourage fellowship, friendship and camaraderie among members with each others respective family;
  3. Invite guest speakers to talk about relevant and timely issues & topics that benefit members either during Club meetings,  Joint Club Meetings  or District wide Meetings/ Assemblies;
  4. Utilize the internet as a tool in club’s exchange of ideas for easier communication and faster dissemination of information.
  5. This being Rotary, we have to disseminates information about Rotary so that new Rotarians will get to know the fact of what Rotary is all about.

Bulletins:

  1. Regularly coordinate with the District of any upcoming projects & programs which the Club or its Members can Participate;
  2. Encourage Members to log on to the rotary.org to gain more information and insights as a way of continuing education;
  3. Regularly Publish Club Bulletin and to make it available every meeting;
  4. Encourage members to contribute articles that have positive impact to the Club, to Community, and the Rotary as a whole;
  5. Create a positive image, motivational, and a very informative publication not only in Rotary but of general interest
  6. Features the significance of Rotary on a Monthly basis to remind everyone what each month is about

Fellowship:

  1. Establish a Monthly Fellowship to Celebrate & Give Significance to all Members who celebrate their birthday in a particular month
  2. Undertake the Summer Outing / Family Day to foster Closer Bonding, Camaraderie & Fellowship from among Rotarians family members

PLANS & PROGRAMS OF THE CLUB

CLUB MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, RETENTION & GROWTH

GOALS:

  1. To increase membership base to 50 at the end of the Rotary year in preparation for the Silver Anniversary Celebration next year and at lest 20 % growth thereafter
  2. To encourage members to aspire for Paul Harris Fellow distinction to ensure membership retention
  3. To undertake an effective recruitment process and a regular effective continuing education for members.
  1. Establish a short, medium and long term focus of the Club in Membership Committee Succession Plan with at least a 3-year succession plan for consistency & continuity

STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION:

Membership Recruitment

  1. Regularly update the Classification information in the club
  2. Invite inactive members to the meetings & activities to renew their interest, fellowship & friendship in the club
  3. Invite to the club  the former Rotaractors and beneficiaries of club activities and other qualified constituents of the community to attend meetings and subsequently invite them to membership
  4. Encourage each active member to invite at least one new member each per Rotary year
  5. Design a simple recruitment system & procedure.  Bring in your guest and we will take care of the rest.
  6. Expand recruitment to the Family Circle of Members
  7. Focus recruiting young & quality members to ensure membership stability & sustainability

Membership Development & Retention

  1. Design a New Members Orientation Program to be Undertaken By Club Trainer & Past Presidents
  2. Create a Lively,  Interesting, and Informative Meeting Atmosphere to Encourage Members Participation & Attendance.
  3. Invite Impressive Speakers to Discuss Relevant Issues that are Appropriate for the Audience Profile
  4. Encourage new members to participate in the district wide New Members Orientation/Training for them to gain interest & faster immersion.
  5. Encourage members to log on more often in the Rotary Web Site to be more informed & updated
  6. A Classification Talk shall be done at least once a month to enable members to get the chance of speaking in front of other members to develop and improve their speaking ability.
  7. Make fellowship festive and enjoyable so that members shall always look forward to it.
  8. Make sure that Club Bulletin will always be available during meetings, including Rotary Magazines, to have something to be read while waiting for the meeting to start.
  9. Manage time the most effective way during the conduct of the meeting & stick to the agenda. Observe Robert’s Rule in the conduct of meeting as much as possible.
  10. Always encourage members to do their share in any service projects based on their interest, talents & skills, time and available resources.
  11. Promote the Paul Harris Fellow distinction and how members can be qualified to have that distinction to ensure Membership Retention and at the same time forward the cause of the Foundation.
  12. Highlight regularly the significant dates & events in every member’s profile during meetings.

Members Continuing Education

  1. Design an effective continuing education program for the Club Trainer & Past Presidents to undertake
  2. Develop a Club Leadership Program in the club level.
  3. Encourage members to participate in the District led Training Seminars and activities
  4. Encourage members to attend Leadership, Organizational & Management Trainings outside of Rotary.
  5. Educate members the importance of Attendance, Make Up Scheme in other clubs & discover Rotary Friendship & Fellowship outside of the club and district

 

CLUB SERVICE PROJECTS

GOALS:

  1. To implement projects that are consistent with the R.I. Thrusts on Water, Literacy, Health & Hunger and the Environment
  2. To conduct Needs Assessments & Analysis to determine High Impact Projects in the community we serve and address them accordingly.
  3. To undertake an internal strength analysis as to available resources to match the needs in the implementation of such identified projects.
  4. To formulate a strategy in undertaking projects that entail resources beyond club capability by co-sharing with other clubs in the district, sister clubs outside the district or even Matching Grants from the TRF and other sources.

STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION:

Water

  1. Sustain our Water Supply Provision to the Day Care Center constructed and maintained by the club
  2. Undertake advocacy in cooperation with the National Water Resources Board, MWSS experts in the conservation of Water, Preservation of Fresh Water Source & Water Shed
  3. Undertake tree planting activities in the watershed areas to protect it from intruders.

Health & Hunger

  1. Continue our Medical & Dental Mission to identified communities with our service partners
  2. Undertake  an anti rabies program dubbed as “ Ligaya Aso Ligaya Tao”
  3. Conduct feeding program together with our service partners.
  4. Promote Urban Organic Vegetable Gardening as sustaining activity for Feeding Program beneficiaries as part of the Self  Reliance Program

Literacy Projects

  1. Undertake Reading & Math Enhancement Project to selected beneficiaries in cooperation with our partners & Rotaract Club of Metro SFDM
  2. Undertake Book Donation to identified beneficiaries
  3. Source Scholarship Grants & award the same to qualified beneficiaries

Livelihood, Environmental and Other  Projects:

  1. Conduct Tree Planting Projects in cooperation with the government of Rizal and other non-government/professional associations partners dubbed as 100,000 Trees For the Environment & Climate Change Advocacy”
  2. Continue With our “Balik Baterya Program” in cooperation with Motolite
  3. Undertake “Operation Pozo Negro” to help protect our environment in selected service areas.
  4. Undertake advocacies in Solid Waste Management of “Re-use Reduce & Recycle Program”
  5. Conduct series of Livelihood Training Programs for Poverty Alleviation in our community beneficiary
  6. Undertake our “Annual Gift Giving Project”


THE ROTARY FOUNDATION

The Rotary Foundation is the vehicle where Rotarians give Annual Contribution to the fund to be able to touch people’s life through a centralized depository of Funds generated through contributions by Rotarians or any other cause oriented/philanthropic individuals or organizations through the efforts of Rotarians.  The TRF Disbursements of Funds shall be done through the process of prioritization in accordance with the Set objective of how and  where these funds are channeled based on identified need and projects of great importance and impact to people’s lives.

At present the RC Metro SFDM has 32 Paul Harris Fellows in its wings, 1 of them is PHF+4, 8 are PHF+1, 8 Sustaining Members and another 5 are New Sustaining Members

GOALS:

  1. To support The Rotary Foundation by contributing U.S. $ 2,000.00 to the Annual Fund before the end of RY 2009-10
  2. To increase awareness in the importance of supporting The Rotary Foundation
  3. To participate in the implementation of the TRF as a project implementer

STRATEGIES AND IMPLEMENTATION:

TRF Annual Fund:

  1. Establish a short, medium and long term focus of the Club’s Contribution to the TRF by:

1.1  Encouraging able Rotarians to become Paul Harris Fellows on or before November 2009, so they will be able to be personally awarded or recognized by RI Pres. Kenny;

1.2   Formulate a 1-yr term Paul Harris Fellow Program by allowing a prospective Paul Harris Fellow to register as Sustaining Member and commit to comply the US $ 1,000. contribution before the Rotary Year ends.

1.3   Formulate a 5-year term Paul Harris Fellow Program by encouraging members to enroll in the Sustaining Membership Plan and committing to pay US $200 annually for 5 years.  This is also in relation to Membership Retention Program Strategy.

1.4   Promote the per Capita Giving Program for the Club by way of committing every member to contribute to the TRF annually.

1.5   Encourage Rotarians to look for philanthropic  individuals /organizations to contribute for the cause of The Rotary Foundation

1.6   Recognition of Donors/Participating Rotarians on proper venue to promote the program

Awareness in Support to TRF:

  1. Develop the skills in the solicitation of prospective donors/ participants
  2. Increase awareness among members in the various TRF missions
  3. Promote the TRF Mission of Peace Advocacy & Promotion & Conflict Resolution
  4. Encourage club members to  the attainment of  TRF Vision

TRF Program/ Project Implementation:

  1. Develop the skill of preparing project proposals for implementation of club based on the criteria set by TRF
  2. Understand the priorities & procedures on how and when to apply for these project Grants being granted by TRF though the District or through Matching Grants
  3. Learn the proper documentation requirements of the project for implementation
