In my three-decade stay here on earth, a lot of things have happened around me, a lot of people have come and gone, a lot of pieces have gradually fallen into place…and a lot of dreams are still waiting to be realized. In this short span of time, I’ve learned a lot of lessons in life. Maybe after another three decades, I would add to my list more lessons learned. Meanwhile, here are some of the things I’ve realized. Maybe, YOU have realized them, too.

“Everyone’s a character in the stage plays of our lives.”
They say that every person we meet in this world will play a part in our lives—be it a big part or a small one.
When we were little children, we may have had a playmate who had always teased us because we were so fat or because we always managed to trip ourselves during our childish games. It is a part of our past but still, we remember those times and eventually realize that that playmate taught us forgiveness and confidence in ourselves. Though sometimes, this has a negative effect on our personality, usually, it teaches us to become strong. This is true to people who learn to forgive and still believe in themselves and what they can do despite the negative things others speak of them.

I used to think that I could never write…that when I write, it will never be called a poem, an essay or a story. I tried to write poems deep into the night only to crumple the pages of my notebook and throw them into the trash bin in the end. I would read novels for young adults during the early part of my teenage years and dream of myself writing my own novels.
